Dear NSMA Members,
We are pleased to share an important opportunity for North Slave Métis Alliance (NSMA) member businesses.
Following the successful approval of an NSMA-affiliated business in the Indigenous Business Directory (IBD), we want to ensure that all eligible NSMA Member businesses are aware that they can now register or update their listings.
The Indigenous Business Directory is used by the Government of Canada to identify Indigenous-owned businesses that can compete for federal contracts that are limited to Indigenous businesses under the Procurement Strategy for Indigenous Business (PSIB).
Why this matters
Registering in the IBD helps position NSMA Member businesses to:
• Compete for federal government contracts reserved for Indigenous businesses
• Increase visibility to federal departments and agencies
• Access procurement, partnership, and supply opportunities
• Strengthen the collective economic presence of the North Slave Métis business community
Who should register?
All NSMA Members who own or operate a business providing goods or services are encouraged to register, including businesses that:
• Have never registered before
• Were previously listed but need to update their information
• Are interested in federal procurement opportunities
After registering
Once listed, businesses can:
• Learn how Indigenous-only procurement works through PSIB
• Search and bid on opportunities through CanadaBuys
• Access free procurement training and webinars
• Prepare for security requirements for federal contracts
How to register
Member businesses can register in the Indigenous Business Directory here:https://www.canada.ca/indigenousbusinessprocurement
If you need support or have questions about registering, please contact:
Joanne Taylor
Senior Administration, Infrastructure & Member Services Manager
We strongly encourage all NSMA Member businesses to take advantage of this opportunity and ensure our Métis businesses are visible and ready for upcoming procurement and contracting opportunities.
Mahsi cho,
North Slave Métis Alliance
