Hosted by NSMA's Health and Wellness Committee! What is ASIST Training?
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a 2-day, evidence-based workshop that teaches participants how to recognize when someone may be at risk of suicide and how to intervene to create a plan for safety. The training includes hands-on practice through real conversations, role plays, and guided learning.

Dates: February 14–15, 2026
Location: 4910- 53rd Street (UNW Building), Yellowknife
Audience: NSMA members (ages 18+)
Compensation: Members will receive a $350 honorarium for participating.
How to Attend:
Space is limited to 15 participants. Members must RSVP by February 10 by emailing wellness@NSMA.net or calling the NSMA office.
