Diavik Diamond Mine Survey and Save the Date for Public Update On Closure Progress, October 22nd 2026

NSMA has received two opportunities for citizens to provide their comments on Diavik Diamond Mine.

Rio Tinto has launched the Local Voices Pulse Survey, an opportunity for Northern residents to confidentially express their views on Diavik Diamond Mine, its operational completion, and its closure progress.

Local Voices is a survey initiative designed to gain feedback from stakeholders at Rio Tinto sites across the globe. It is an important tool for our Communities, Corporate Relations, and Executive teams to gauge the sentiment of people living and working around our operations.

Diavik held its first Local Voices survey in 2025. This year’s Pulse survey will allow for a snapshot of how sentiments have changed over the past year.

The online survey is open now until 31 October 2026 and can be completed by Northern residents and Diavik team members. Please feel free to complete the survey yourself and share with friends and family.

It is 100% confidential, with no personal details shared with Rio Tinto. We have partnered on this initiative with Voconiq, a third-party community engagement organization.

By completing the survey, you can also help support Northern community groups through a donation by our survey contractor Voconiq. Once the survey is completed, you can select a non-profit group, including the Yellowknife Community Foundation Northern Legacy Fund and the NWT United Way, to receive your donation token, resulting in a direct donation to the organization.
